Two part tire question

I'm running stock FX4 wheels and I'm about to upgrade my tires. I want to order them this Friday so I need to make a decision quick. Here are my questions.

1, 275/70/18 or 285/65/18? Why? (that is not 2 questions. It part of the question)

2, what tire do you recommend BFG's or Nitto and of coarse, why?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Never mind the second question. With a little more poking around this forum I found my answer. Looks like BFG's.

The 285/65R18 would give a better look. I would say, bigger is always a better look. Filling in the wheel well does change the look. Between the 2, I would do the BFGoodrich tires. Better track record, been around for a long time and they have good all around performance. Tire has been around for ever!! Must be doing something right.

the 275/70/18 is about 33.2" in diameter while the 285/65/18 is about 32.7" in diameter. The 285 will be about 0.4" wider. So it all depends on what you are more interested in, filling your wheel well or looking good from the front/back. I went with the 275/70/18 because I wanted to fill the wheel well up and I don't really like a wide tire for all the snow/slush we get up here in Canada (I think they may have been cheaper too). Overall the BFG is a GREAT tire, watch your air pressure and rotate them and they will last for a long time.
