235/70-17 vs 235/75-17??

How much of difference between these two height wise? Is the 75 really gonna be a lot bigger? I do not want too much of a difference. Just something with a tiny bit more height.

The 235/70R17 is 29.9" tall and the 235/75R17 is 30.9" tall. Size can vary a little between brands.

Thanks for your help. I have stock P235/70R17 Hankook's now. I want to get only half an inch more. Would P245/70R17's be my best choice for my stock rim?

I'd go with an offroad look and mount some 265/70-17 (32x10.50) all terrian tires.

I think I'm going to get the Firestone Destination A/T tires.. Unless you have a better recommendation in that price range (a set of 4 is $512.00). The Firestone tires seem to have good reviews and are rated really well for all driving conditions. I do not drive off road ever, but want something with much better traction than my stock Hankooks... they actually got me stuck in the mud today when I was trying to hook up a trailer. I had to call AAA to be pulled out. Once I hooked up the trailer, the added weight gave me enough traction. It was raining really hard and I was on the grass on a slight incline. My one wheel drive didn't do me any favors thanks to being 2wd with non limited slip.

I was thinking of just going with 245/70-17's because I like to look of having room in the wheel wells. It seems my current tires are 30" and these will be 30.6" How much with that offset the speedometer?

Thanks!

You are not going to notice that much of a difference in the speedometer with a 1/2" height difference. Maybe 1-2 mph at 70 mph. We have the the 235/70R17 Firestone destinations AT's for $128 each and the 245/75R17 for $131 each. I have run this tire before and I really like the way it performs. Very quiet on the highway and handles really well in the wet and snow.

Hey Derrick, I was actually planning on buying from you guys anyway. It says on the site four of the 245/70-17 FS Destinations are $512.00. Besides those, are there others you'd recommend over them or do you think these should do the trick? I'd spend up to $100 more if I know it would make THAT much of a difference. Thank you!

One thing I do not get, 24517-17 and 265/65-17 and both exactly 30.6" What would the difference be? The 265 will be wider?
