bigger wheels on lifted trucks opinions

i just had 22s and 35s put on my 6" suspension lift and i love how it turned out. however, while reading through different posts in different threads i've seen alotta knocking on the bigger rims on lifted trucks. personally i like it better with bigger wheels and if i were to go to 38s i would go with 24s. i just wanna see what everyone else thinks and if you have a lifted truck on
22s or 24s post some pics of it please. heres mine...

the look to me is not the issue. I think 35s on 20s looks perfect, but i like the look of 22s on 35s on your truck, even though it makes the tires look sort of small. the thing about big rims on mud tires is it costs more and the side lugs are smaller. so its a give or take situation. my 2 cents

It's all a matter of opinion. Personally I don't like the big wheel/no sidewall setups. Those setups normally result in more wheel damage when taken off road. When I see these particular setups I think "street queen". But that's just my opinion, in the end it doesn't matter as long as you like it.

I did the opposite of you. I had a factory 20" wheel and now I'm running the 17" Raptor wheels with a 33" tire.

That setup looks great...you just need to raise your back end to be level with the front.

ya she is definitely a street queen. i understand the offroad setbacks and i agree but for looks i love them and in person they make the tires look taller. thanks for yalls opinions i wanted some insight and i appreciate it! neilboy i took the rear 2" blocks out so it sits a little bulldog, i like this stance better than the old which is pictured with my old tires and wheels in my album

if you're going for little to no functionaliy, then it's sweet. i'm all looks so i like it. imo lifted on 24s looks a little ridiculous. but there's a guy on here that pulls if off decently. f250 lifted on 24s is useless for offroad but looks sickkk

I think lifting a truck, and big aggressive M/ts then throwing big wheels on just looks out of place. As would a slammed truck with small steel wheels. But hey if ya like it

2 cents

I concur, if your truck will be a street queen then it'll be fine as far a functionality goes.

As far as Looks, I personally don't like it but then again that is just my personal opinion (opinions are just opinions and not the truth).

When off roading you need plenty of tread so you can air down and have better traction.

Here I had 18's on 35's, hit a rock at about 25 mph and condemned the rim.

I don't like anything larger than a 20" rim on a lifted truck, but like has been said, to each his own. That's why there are so many choices. I have a bigger problem with people putting cheap wheels on these heavy trucks. People pay no attention to weight ratings on wheels and tires. People have no clue that there is a difference between a forged rim and a cast rim. On a car, it doesn't matter. On a truck, it can mean the difference between life and death.

In my opion, it's all about proportion. If the tire is tall enough, larger wheels look great. Personally, I think a 44 inch tall off road tire on a 15 inch wheel looks as bad as a 33 inch offroad tire on a 22 inch wheel.

Exactly.

Proportion wise i think 18-20" rims are perfect on 35's and 20-22" rims are perfect on 37's and 38's. I feel like I like big rims as it is, but anything bigger than that is a little too much in my oppinion.

ya i've seen this f250 before and i love it. a friend of mine here in orlando had this 250 with 24s but he recently traded it. anyways i saw it covered in mud alot (not how i would treat her haha) but i dont think he ever had any problems offroad although i understand you lose a little offroad performance i think its worth the sacrifice cause i think it looks so good. here it is btw...

^^that truck is sickkkkkk. but i wouldn't call that offroading. i think it's "covered in mud" from him doing jus what u posted in the last pic, driving thru an oversized puddle of water on an offroad terrain therefore it looks like he was really doing something. if it were mine, i'd be dodging puddles on the street with it tho, that thing is beautiful
