My Experience with the Cooper Zeon LTZ
[2006 F-150 FX4]
I have had my first and last experience with Cooper tires. I had purchased these tires back in 08. As of this week, I had approximately 35K miles on them and Disc. Tire refused to rotate them because of significant torque cracks in the shoulders of 3 of the 4 tires. Per the shop, this is a defect in the tire. At the time, the tread was down to 5/32" , very close to failing inspection.
After the manager spent close to 45 minutes on hold, Cooper claims dept. reported the tires would have to be sent back to Cooper for further analysis before any claim was made. If Discount tire performed this, they could be on the hook for whatever they credit me if Cooper denied the claim.
If I sent them back, I would be out a complete set of tires if they denied the claim. Plus I would be required to purchase another set of Cooper tires, which at 35K miles, is not in my best interest.
Cooper tires has been a total disappointment from a product and a customer service point of view.
I only ever had issues with Pro Comp tires in the past, and they honored the defect and provided very adequate credit for my loss.
Just my .02 cents.

My truck is parked and I will be using my motorcycles.
My long term plan was to wait for the tires to wear out before I put the lift kit and 35's on. The schedule has been accelerated and I am in the process of purchasing my lift kit and going with some Fuzion tires (very cheap).
I will have Discount Tire send the Coopers back and see what happens. If I have to pay for freight, I guess the tires will be recycled. If they are deemed defective and I am forced to get a credit toward Cooper tires, I will possibly purchase a spare set of tires if the credit is significant enough.

My brother bought a used Tacoma 4x4 that came with a set of new looking Cooper Discoverer tires. He drives ranches all day in thorny and rocky environment. The Coopers didn't make it a year or less than 25,000 miles. The tread was gone. He won't have another set even for free. He usually runs the Goodrich TKOs and gets about 4 years out of a set.

I am having the same issue. I have P285/60/18's on a Land Cruiser.
I called Cooper Customer Relations at 1-800-854-6288 and these tires are covered under a Cooper "Premium" Warranty against defects. They will replace the tire, 100% Free, if defective. Once I got them on the phone, I asked for an email address to send them pictures. I also included a copy of my receipt where I purchased them in June 2009. They are even going to cover the mounting and balance fees for the new tires. It is a "zero-cost" warranty on defects.
They are going to honor the warranty and give me replacements at no cost. However, I am going to "upgrade" from the P rubber compound to the LT-275/70-18, which is a little larger diameter and a different rubber. I have to pay for the upgrade, but it's not too bad considering.
You shouldn't let them pull one over on you if your Tire Shop didn't properly report it. Call them yourself!
Here's my post on a Land Cruiser forum.

I found this thread via a Google search for "Cooper Zeon LTZ Cracking".
I have the same issue.
I have P285/60/18 and I purchased them in June 2009. I now have 34K miles on mine... Same as you...
Anyway, here's my post on a Land Cruiser forum
I called Cooper Customer Relations at 1-800-854-6288 and spoke to Julie about my problem. I asked for an email addy and sent her pics and a copy of my receipt. They are being covered under Cooper's "Premium" Warranty at zero cost to me, including mounting and balance.
I'm a little hesitant to go back with the exact same tire, so I opted to "upgrade" through my local tire shop to get LT 275/70-18's instead at a small added cost. Not bad at all, and Cooper is stepping up to the plate with me. Again, these tires are 18+ months old with 34K miles on them and I'm getting full replacement at no cost....
Maybe you should call/email pics and see what they will do.

I also had a set of Cooper Zeon LTZ 285/75R18 on my 150. I too called Cooper Customer Relations at 1-800-854-6288 and these tires are covered under a Cooper "Premium" Warranty against defects. You should get the D.O.T. info off the tires when you call. They will instruct you to take the tires back to the dealer to be returned to Cooper for a 100% refund. They also will ask for a copy of the original receipt.
