They are a huge company with stores in almost every city. I doubt that they will scam you.

I got a set of MT/R's w/Kevlar from them. What's good was they matched any price I could find. They were listed at $265 ea at DT, but when I went on line I found them cheaper. I called DT and they verified the site and gave me the same price. The other thing thats good about them is when you buy a tire it included some sort of warranty with it. Not the additioanl tire replacement they offer, but if you use half the life of the tire and something happens then they pro-rate and you pay the differnce on the replacement.

BUT the only reason I went with them is because I didn't buy rims. If I was looking for rims and tires I would of went somewhere where tire packages are offered...

Are you looking at buying on line or from one of the stores? I'm a pretty loyal Americas/Discount tire shopper, but my last set of tires I really tried to go with TireRack. It seems everyone in my area is getting smart and the installation prices for tires brought in from somewhere else was completely outrageous. There's too many discount tire stores around to mail order and you'll still get the same price plus the local service.

How do you like your MT/R's? I just got a set Monday and only have about 75miles on them.

Love mine so far. I was scared to death to go back to a GY, but glad I did. I really enjoy having a mud tire...it just 'fits' my truck better. They have been great on the road, highway, towing my heavy trailer, everything. Just sitting waiting patiently to try them out in the snow...that's about the worst service they'll see. I would buy another set without question when the time comes. I wanted a white letter and really really wanted something besides a Toyo M/T. This tire had everything I wanted. They're wearing really well also. I think I'm around 15,000 on mine, or there abouts. It shows, but not to the point of looking excessive at this point. I'm happy.

I've had excellent luck with Discount Tires, especially with the additional road hazard warranty. They are the only outfit I'll let touch the lugnuts on my vehicles since they won't overtorque the nuts.

In my experience of buying 7 sets of tires over the past 10 years for a variety of vehicles, the BEST deals / pricing has been from the local, friendly FoMoCo dealership service departments. *Plural because it applies to several in NC as well as MI.

Their prices have been the lowest, and beat TireRack, Discount Tire, Belle Tire, etc..

How do I know ? Do the research online at the web sites of the above and then take that dollar amount and go to their local outlets for comparison. Last stop is the FoMoCo dealership and in each and every case ( without mentioning the research pricing results ) they beat the lowest -online- / outlet price. And their price includes mounting, balancing, and tax ( which BTW is even lower than the others online price without shipping added-in ).

Think about it ... FoMoCo ( and any other maker ) does VOLUMES of tire buying from several manufacturers.

DiscountTireDirect.com is cheaper than DiscountTire.com...(same company) but if you order fro the direct website you have to pay your local shop to install them.

Still turned out cheaper by $150 and I don't have a Discount tire close to me.

He was asking about discounttires.com not discount tire. i stumbled across the same site and steered clear...it's a little strange that they use such a well known name(although not around here). Seems like they are trying to avoid any negativity while piggybacking on the rep of someone else. i bought elsewhere.

I plan on doing business with them in March or April. Their prices are slightly better than Tire Rack's, because they have all the maintenance included.

I just noticed that to. I checked their site out. Selection for my tire was limited. I probably would stay clear too... With all the searching I did I never came across this site, which I find hard to beleive.
