Exclamation What Do your Tires Measure up to? 35s /37s

Ok I cant decide on tire size! here is my delema,

05, Screw 4X4

I have about 8.5" ft and 4" rr (Real Measurement) lift, im running 35X12.50R20 Pro-Comp Extreme M/T and the spec says they should be 34.5" tall, they actually measured at 34.25 new and now they measure at 33.1" (almost bald).

I think they looked to small when new, let alone wore down the just look stupid IMO.

So here is the problem, some tire specs say they are actually 35" tall but they are never what they say!

I would like to get a true 35-36" tire but I dont know what to believe!

I measured a new 37" Toyo M/T on a Superduty and it only measured at 35.25"!

1 What do your tires Measure at?
2 What is the Measured lift on your truck?
3 Do they Rub (ie: any trimming)?
4 what about gearing?

sorry for all the questions but I like to know before buying!

Thanks for the help!
here is a pic!

the picture is a couple years old when the tires where new!

My old 38" toyos measure out to 37.7, which is what toyo had them listed, usually the
37's measure out to a true 37's. Usually if people have a wider rims, like 11-12" wide it will stretch the tire out wider and make the height shorter

Maybe its the heavier truck!

OK I got my answer!
I went down to the local truck lot that has all lifted trucks and measured 4 different sets of 37s on 20s and they all measures between 35"-35.25",(Toyo M/T, Nitto Mud Grappler, Nitto Trail M/T, Pro-Comp EX A/T)
and 3 sets of 35s on 20s measured 33.5"-34"!(Toyo M/T, Pro-comp EX M/T, Nitto Trail M/T)

So I guess I will have to go with a 35" tire that says 37 on the tire! LOL

maybe this info will help someone else aswell!

You realize that tire heights are measured unmounted. Once mounted and supporting a 5 to 7 thousand pound truck, they are gonna "squish" down a lot.

Really is that called gravity! and does this this include adding 12.2 atmospheric pressure at 5000ft of elevation!
Thanks Man I was unsure about this!

Thats why my tires are 1/2" wider than tall! HMM thats still only 33.5" for a 35, maybe thats where Atmospheric pressure comes in, the 14.7lbs at sea level or the 12+ at 5000 ft might be it! (Squish factor)

LOL
just trying to be a smart A&^!

I know that what they say and what is reality is always different! I was trying to see how accurate the manufactures specs are!
Thanks anyway!

LOL. Don't know about atmospheric pressure, but you can be sure air pressure plays part in it. I run my tires at 40 psi while some guys run over 50 psi which will make my tires "shorter". I just think there are way too many variables to take into account if you are actually going around measuring differnt people's tires.

You are saying exactly what I was implying!
Again, I just want to know how accurate the specs are compared to real world, ya know with weight of the vehicle, gravity, atmospheric pressure, and tire pressure, didnt think about some people needing everything spelled out for them!
I didnt think people would chime in that have no experiance on what im asking!
I dont like the negative undertones some people always put out, but thats what works for some!
Thanks anyway! IM DONE WITH THIS POST!!
