Going from 16X7 to 16X8-10

I have 285/75/16s on stock wheels which are 16X7.
but my question is if i switch from a 16X7 to a 16X9 or 10 will it shorten my tires and lower the truck or tires any?

In theory yes, but it would only be a few thousands of an inch.

go with a 16x10...no point in payin all that money for one inch from stock (16x8)
