Just bought some 26x9.5 Avenue rims. I have rims on all my cars and Ive had 2 sets on this specific truck. I had 22'x9.5 and then upgraded to 24x9.5. Heres my question. Do I need a certain chip and/or do I need to buy a new brake pattern??

You should be fine as it is. A programmer (Edge Evolution) will help gain some of your fuel millage back, correct speedometer and add some extra hp to get those wheels moving.

I have a few friends running 26's and 28's and none have had any problems. I'm not sure if you see it where you're from, but down here there are several front wheel drive cars with 24's and 26's.

 

Im stationed at Fort Riley, KS right now. We have a bunch of Soldiers out here with rims as high as 30's on F150s. It lloks like a Tonka truck.. lol. I was just asking advice on whether I needed to buy a programable chip for the fuel/speedometer and/or if I needed to buy larger brakes. Thanks for the comments. Keep em comin.

 

i used to have 24s on my 05 f150 fx4 but the truck got stolen but once found i put 26s on it with the big tires 315/40R26 and havent never had a problem yet, they will wear brakes quicker but a big brake setup is to much money imo so i just go easy on mine and im good

 

just be easy on the both pedals if any if your driving like a race car does then you may run into problems....got any of pics of the sixes?

 

26's?!? 30's?!? Unbelievable...
Anyway, why would you need a "chip"? What size tire are you going with? Regardless of the size of the rim, it's the outer diameter of the wheel/tires that will affect your speedo, gearing etc. Figure out your tire size and compare to your stock setup and you get an idea of how "off" you'd be.

And I can't believe I am saying this, but post pics once you got them mounted (as well as pics of what 30" rims look like). I am curious to say the least...

 

if he's running 26"s the average tire averages out at 33.2" i may be wrong though.

i'll agree, 30s looks downright stupid. but 26s on fullsize pickups looks sick. especially on the new silverado/sierra/yukon. i wanna see pics as well tho, not too many people on here runnin big rims... never seen pics of anyone on here wit 26s actually, quite a few on 4s tho.

I have 26's on mine and havent had any problems. Im a carpenter and I haul wood and supplies regularly no prob. I would post pics they are in my profile but I am having trouble doing so. My whipple supercharger came in last week and I am looking to sell these wheels. I need to go forged/billet to lighten the load a little.

 

 

They all need bigger brakes. They look like **** when you see big rims and the small stock rotors.

 

Im currently in Baghdad right now. Ill have my wife take pics for me and have her email em. fdimeroller- Nice truck. I have pretty much the same setup except my truck is black. Just bought a new armor lid tonneau cover and just added the remote everything. Ill be home on RnR leave in about a month. Ill be taking the stock headlights off and doin the halo setup as well as changin the taillights. I have a single 4" 40 series flowmaster which sounds good but looks suspect. I think the dual setup will look alot better. As for StoveTop- The guy with 30's is running an 06' 150 Lariat. Blue w/ off white trim. chrome rims with off white backdrop. It looks ridiculous. He also looks like Katt Williams... makes it even better.
