Tire Help Please

I have a 2007 F150 FX4 (4X4) with an AS 2 1/2 level plus AS AAL. I have 20" stock rimes with the stock Pirelli tires. I want to go with a **** Cepek FC II 35X12.5 inch tire (they measure 34.6"). I am also up for other tire suggestions.

What I would like to do is install them on the stock rims for now and then at a later date go with XD Addict 20X9 rim with -12 offset (4.5 BS) (if I am understanding OS and BS correctly as I want them to stick out a couple inches further than stock).

So my questions are will that tire fit on the stock rims? Will I get any rubbing (I don't think I will).

Will the XD's with the above OS and BS fit with my level without any or miminal rubbing (I do not think this will be possible).

I would prefer to not do the rims and tires at the same time (dont want to use credit). I will do a BL or SL at a later time if the XD rims will not work on current level (will lift at some time no matter what).

I appreciate any words of wisdom on the above set up.

Thanks,

KD

Some 12.50 inch wide tires with aggressive sidewalls will touch the upper control arm/ball joint when using the OEM 20 inch wheels. This is usually a problem with mud tires. You didn't say which DC tire you wanted to use. However, you will have some serious rubbing if you mount them on a 9 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of BS.

Sorry about not mentioning the tire. It is the **** Cepek FC II.

I think those would work fine using the OEM wheels, but with the aftermarket wheels you want, I'd go with a 33x12.50.

Thanks Wandell. I really want to lift it within the year and do not want to have to redo rims or tires. I think I will go with the 35X12.5 and get new rims when I lift as it seems most lifts that I have researched call for 4.5" of BS.

I am guessing I would not have any problem finding a tire shop that would mount those tires in OEM rims since they technically are meant for wider rims.

Sounds like a plan. Also, the OEM 20's are 8.5 inches wide and most manufacturers recommend an 8 to 10 inch wide wheel for 12.50 inch wide tires.
