painting my chrome wheels

So I bought some procomp xtreme 6059 chrome wheels on craigslist a while ago. Got all four for $150. Good deal. Except they were a little pitted. The guy lived on a military base on the ocean. So the salt water ruined them. Well I decided to just get them powder coated before I realized it was about 300 bucks. So today I had so time and decided to just paint them black, myself. I read somewhere its possible just to sandblast the chrome off. And I just happened to have a small sand blaster I got for free from my old junk removal job. So I thought DIY. So I went to home depot and got
Sand
Denatured alcohol
Etching primer
Sanding primer
High temp gloss black engine enamel
And some gloss clear
So far so.good. sand blasted the front and back of the wheel. Came out great. Just finish the first coat of etching primer. I think ill.let that dry over night. Then finish it in the morning since its looking like rain. Well I do have to say this is so far really easy to do. Im.so.thankful for great forum web sites like this one. Its great to learn how to accomplish diy projects. I've learned so much. I hope tomorrow to post the pics of my progress. If I can do.this anyone can.

When your first post contains several pictures, the site spam detector freezes it as it thinks it may be spam. I released it and merged all your threads. You should not have that problem again.

Awesome. Why the wetsanding, just to make sure you had the smoothest surface you could before paint?

correct i want the rims to have a smooth show room finish. easier to clean and polish later on.
