Most tire manufacturers recommend an 8 to 10 inch wide wheel for a 12.50 inch wide tire, but several members here and FTW have done it with no problems. Sometimes this can cause the center of the tread to crown slightly and wear slightly faster than normal, similar to running too much air pressure. Just keep and eye on them and adjust your air pressure accordingly.

I'd say you'd need a bigger wheel for sure.

A 12.5 inch wide tire will be fine on a 7.5 inch stock wheel. Thousands of people ovee the years have ran these combos ever since the 80-96 full sizes came out with 7.5 inch wide wheels.

One thing to beware of, at least on the 04+ the 12.50 mud grapplers often hit the UCA while trying to mount with their aggressive side lugs. You may be OK on your 99 though, worse case scenario you can add a 1/4" spacer.

what did that have to do with his ?.....

to the OP i think your wheels will be fine...however nitto does RECOMMEND a 10 inch wide wheel for these tires (8.5-11)....actual width of them is 12.68....i would keep that in mind but i think they will be fine just keep in mind what wandell said about your tire pressure

Yes I have no idea what that had to do with my question lol.. But yea I had a guy I worked with who had a 99 like mine and his ran them fine. To bad he sold it before I was really interested in trucks and such, so I really didn't get a good look at it but in pictures. But I hope I'll be okay.

And further more, skip the Nittos. They suck.

They do, I think they are just located lower than the 04+ (not visible with wheel on) so they will probably not be any issues. Just wanted to throw out a word of caution, figured it would not hurt.
