Tire Upgrade: What to do With Like-New Take Offs?

For the members that have quickly upgraded their stock tires: What do you do with your like-new take offs?

Do any tire shops give credits for them? Sell them online?

My Pirellis only have 600 miles on them, so I'd hate to just throw them out. I would wait to upgrade, but I only drive 12k/year so it would take me 3-4 years to wear them out.

I kept mine for winter so I don't wreck my chrome rims. You could always post them on the classified on this site and on site like Craigslist and a local classified's site in your area. It depends on the tire shop but most will let you put up a picture on their post board if they have one depends on if you know someone that works their or not.

noregrets - tires are made of rubber... not chrome

Beach Bum - try selling them on here or craigslist... or keep them for someday if you think you'd put them back on when these upgrades wear out.

I think he means that he has another set of rims(chrome) that are his summer set. During winter he puts on his stockers(tires and rims) as not to mess up his other rims. PS the salt will cause the chrome to pit.

Thanks guys. I'd rather sell them. The wife would kill me if I started collecting parts at the house again Been there, done that.

Any idea of the going rate for 600 mile 275/55/20 Pirellis?

Looks like they are ~$160 each new. I would say quick sale of $350-$400 would be reasonable.

[QUOTE=mkosu04;4532463]noregrets - tires are made of rubber... not chrome

I know tires aren't made of chrome don't need to be smart about it, I was just saying that some people keep there stock stuff and switch over. I was thinking he was getting rims and tires...

And they seem to go for around 450 at the dealer near my house for take off tires so around that price would be fair.
