I dont have a problem with chrome bumpers and black rims as long as the rims have some chroms accents to tie everything together like the XD monsters with the chrome(fake chrome) bolts. But everyone likes and thinks something differnt. If not we would all have the exact same set up.

I would probally have a body shop paint the chrome if you are going to do it. Shouldnt cost to much in the scheme of things

This is a perfect example. Even though the first wheels have a polished lip the face is solid black so is hard to even see the polished area. The HD wheels are black/machined and look 100x's better. You can actually see a wheel and not a giant black circle.

Back when I was growing up if your truck had chrome bumpers that was the upgrade. The painted bumpers on trucks back in the 70's and 80's were usually white and had the dealers name stamped on them.

Then some cars started having painted bumpers that were PTM plastic and they would crack an peel after a few years. Thankfully the car companies have now figured out how to paint plastic.

Not long into the 90's that whole Euro look came in and you started seeing people with colored wiper blades even on trucks. That to me was as much overkill as the stick on chrome is now.

So when I went to buy my truck I wanted chrome bumpers. Naturally chrome wheels, mine are actually clear coated polished, go with chrome bumpers. I agree it is a fine line and there can be too much one way or the other. But on trucks I prefer the chrome wheels most of the time.

But sometimes on cars I like a different look like we have on our 2011 5.0

Just a little rubbing on the plastic which i trimmed, no big deal. 3"leveling kit...should have dont a 2.5", but i had no problems. also had an add a leaf in the rear.

I like chrome wheels. Sometimes black looks ok. I guess I like the shine and sparkle and clean look of nice chrome wheels.

I like chrome rims, its alot harder to pull off than a black rim so you can appreciate them more. Ive built 2 "blackout" trucks and found it easier to do than my current truck
