295/70/18 Nitto Trail Grapplers on 07 F150

Well after reading a ton of conflicting posts about wether these tires would fit without rub and if a negative offset would make it worse or not.......I went ahead and took the chance on them anyways. I thought I would post this with some detail for others also lost and confused if they should go bigger or not. NOTE: there was some work and a bit of frustration at first!

295/70/18 Nitto Trails on Moto Metal MO957 was what I finally settled on. So I put them on and prayed they would not rub. Never works for me.........only minimal rub on the front of the lower variance, however, plenty of rub on the rear of the front wheel well. And of course there is some small pieces of metal. After really debating wether or not I wanted to start cutting up the truck, I grabbed the sawzell and a good metal blade and dove in.

Surprisingly it went smoother than I anticapated and was not that difficult to trim. Here are some pics of before and after along with a few of what was trimmed. No rub at all with some clearance for articulation. I have also not noted any issues with rubbing the control arm.

Let me know what you guys think...

sorry I forgot to put that in. It is leveled with Ranchos in the front. The offset is -12.

That -12 is what kicked your butt with those tires. Turned out great though.

just had the same size Nitto Trails mounted on my stock rims for my 04, with a 3" leveling kit they just barely rubbed at all, nothing a quick trim couldnt fix. Your truck looks great

Looks so much better with the new wheels and tires! I don't think I could handle doing that much trimming in my fender wells though.

Humm no rubbing here (never trimmed anything) and I have a 2.5" level.

all I had to trim was the fender flares where they wrap up from the bottom on the back side of the inner fender, i just had to trim the corner off because it stuck out a little farther than everything else

Looks good. I'm looking to do a similar setup with my '08 FX4. With a 2.5" front leveling kit, 1.5" AAL, and 295/70/18 or so tires on Monster wheels with 18mm offset, does anyone think that there will be any trouble with rubbing? I want to avoid rubbing at all costs.

I have almost the same exact setup (minus the 1.5" AAL) and the only trimming I had to do was a minor amount (1" triangle) on the lower valence.

That's not too bad. Your truck looks sick by the way! I'm thinking I'll go with 305/65/18 tires since they're almost an inch smaller so I can avoid trimming
