ran into a tire fitment problem. need some advise please

i bought a set of nitto trail grapplers (35/12.50/18) for my 04 f150 and they do not fit, the tire was pressing against my upper ball joint so they didnt even want to bolt it on because it was pointless. i have a 2 inch level in the front and i thought that was all i needed to get them to fit, expecting a little bit of rubbing at full crank, not constantly pressing against the ball joint. whats wrong? my ball joints needed to be replaced, could that be the problem? please help

On an 04 with just a 2" level 35's are going to be tight. Like they said above, with not much lift it all comes down to the proper backspacing of the wheel.

Use as thin a spacer as possible. The problem you are having is caused by the aggressive sidewalls of the Mud Grapplers.

I think i will have the same problem as you. I have 265 and they are like 1/2" from rubbing the ball joint. I dont see how guys are running 35's on here with the stock rims.

I'd guess a 8.5 wide wheel with 5.5 inches of BS would help. If you come out any more you'll have rubbing on the lower wheelwells when turning.
