please help

I just went to change my brake pads and the news pads fit a little too snug into the clips, they are not sliding real well. Is it ok to grind them off a bit to fit better?

No you shouldn't have to grind them. A little more detail would help but you either have the wrong pad or they or not installed correctly.

I believe the pads are the right size, matched up against the old ones they are identical. They fit into the metal guide clips a little to snug. I cleaned the old ones off and decided not to replace (possibly my problem) and they just don't feel like they are fitting correctly. Wondering if I should just take the pads off and put new clips in?

I would try it with the new clips, that may be your problem.
