New tires and leveling kit!

Hey all, I should be getting my new tires on today. 285/70 17 Cooper STT's. I also ordered a 2.5" Hellbent steel leveling kit last night so that should be on early next week. Here's a before pic. I'll post one early next week to show how it looks after.

2.5" Hellbent Steel Leveling Kit:

285/70 R17 Cooper STT's:

Sorry the pictures aren't too good. I took them on my phone. The truck's also on a hill so you may not be able to tell too well. I'll get some better pics when the lighting is ideal outside.
I also forgot to get a picture of the tread so I found one online to post.

Looks good man. Decided to stay with the same size? Good idea, then u don't have to mess with gearing which can be pricey. U were thinking about 35s, but the 33s seem more practical. Looks great. Don't forget to get alignment if u haven't already. Be a bad deal if u start funky wear on the new tires.

Yeah I did have a little bit. The only reason I did is because of my wheels. They're 17x9 with 4.5" backspacing and -11mm offset. If they were stock wheels there wouldn't have been any. With the leveling kit, there's no rubbing whatsoever.

Thanks man. Would have loved to have went with 35s but this was definitely the more economical option. I put the kit on at our shop and had our alignment guy take care of it right when I got done with it. He's gonna check it out again in another week or week and a half and make sure everything's still good

That size will fit easy with no level and no rubbing with proper backspacing and offset. I have the same size tire and mine didn't rub at all, but the truck looks much better with level. For the price of leveling I think it's worth it. If he rubbed it's because they may be around 4.5 inches of bs and a negative offset. Makes the wheels stick out more past the wheelwell. Here's a pic with no level.

No problem. When i first started looking for an F-150, i didn't care for the flareside bed too much. But after seeing your's, and a couple of other's on this site, i wish i would have gone that route.

Nice looking truck.... From reading previous posts it is safe to say everybody's truck is different. I just put 325/50/22 inch rim and tires on my truck with a 2.5 AS and had no rubbing or trimming. It only rub on the running board so I had them removed also. Other guys with 35's had minor trimming. Weight wise, smaller rims and tires would have been more economical. I have 3.73 gears and still pull fine.... Stopping is the only problem..
