Brake Judder

When I brake with any real pressure I experince brake judder, if u brake hard u can really feel it. Is it s sign of new brake pads & rotors required? It drives fine otherwise any ideas please?

Judder? Do you mean shudder? If so, it could be warped rotors, or egg shaped drums if you have them. It could also be that your ABS needs to be serviced in some fashion. You
could also check for a frozen caliper or piston. Sounds like rotors to me.

Sounds like it's time to turn your rotors.

How many miles on these rotors/pads?

You probably just need new rotors, or may be able to have them turned/re-surfaced to buy you a little more time.

Shudder/judder, its like a on/off vibration that can even cause the wiper blades to move on the windshield if u brake hard enough. I don't really know how it can be described!!

I do not know when the brakes were last serviced, I have not had to have anything done to them since I owned it, so I don't have any idea I'm afraid.

Well how long have you owned it and how many miles have you put on it? Did you buy it new or used?

Regardless, sounds like you should have a shop inspect the brakes asap. They will be able to tell you what's up in about 10 seconds...

I bought it used about 3yrs ago. It has about 115k miles on it & other than oil changes & modifications etc it has not needed anything other than a new battery. I don't do any great mileage in a year probably less than 10k. On average it only does about 20 miles a day.

So you've put about 30K on the brakes since you bought it, and you're not sure how old they were then. If it were me, I'd get it in to a brake shop...quick like...and have them inspected...before you go to panic stop and end up 4' into the rear end of a mini van full of Girl Scouts.

Be safe - Get'em checked and replaced if need be.

x2, have them checked, or do a complete over haul which is what you should do anyways. New calipers, performance rotors and semi-metallic pads. I love mine.

What did it cost and what did they change if i may ask and i do so because i am having mine done today on my 2004 F150. First brake job on truck with 56k and man i was shocked. Rear 90% gone, front 80% gone, All 4 rotors need to be replaced. Sweet. $1250 but that was also having passenger side power window fixed(regulator) and he is not using OE brake parts.
