Brake pad input

I'm getting ready to replace my brake pads. I don't do a lot of towing, but would like the extra stopping power since I do a lot of stop and go traffic on the hight way.

I'm looking at the HAWK LTS's for both front and rear, or at least the front.
The other set is the Duralast Gold SD.

Thoughts/Suggestions?

I've used duralast pads in the past and never had any issues....the difference in price is:

Duralast Gold $55
HAWK LTS $79

Thanks,

At 62k I changed out my stock rear pads for wagner thermo quiets and they are amazing. The stopping power is much greater than stock now, and there is virtually no brake dust. I left my stock front pads on because they still had about 1/2 life left and compared to the wagners, they squeel even with brake pad grease on them and they make lots of brake dust. I have chrome wheels and I have to clean the front wheels about 2 times a month, but the rears only have to be cleaned about 1 time every few months.

I went with performance friction pads all the way around and they are amazing pads...they are the pads that most police departments use...check their website or u can get them through Jasper engines and transmissions. Low dust and how they are made is a engineering feat as well....and they last 60% longer than stock. Highly recommend.

If you get 100 replies to this thread, 95 of them will be for the Wagner ThermoQuiet's! Semi-metallic. Ridiculously great pad, especially when considering the cost. As mentioned already, I'll confirm the almost zero dust! I've had better, but that comes at a cost. EBC GreenStuff 7000's are better than the Wagners, but at $100 an axle, you pay for it. I actually prefer my experience with the EBCs performance but you can't beat the bang-for-the-buck with the Wagners.

I got over 80,000 miles with my first set of Wagner TQs. The only pad I use.

I swapped out my OE pads for Wagner TQ's SM before my truck even had 20k miles because the brake dust was killing me and I was also getting larger tires so I wanted to upgrade. Well a year later I couldn't be happier with these pads. The peddle feels better and smoother, there real quiet, stop great and best of all virtually no break dust even with 35's.

I put my first set on at 11,000 to eliminate dust. Then 80,000 miles later, put on my second set even though they still had maybe 20,000 miles left.

And buy them at AdvanceAutoParts and use a code from HERE. In the end, with the coupon and the rebate you're going to pay about $30 for a full set of TQs.
