I recently purchased a 1998 F150. The guy had said a shop had told him that the truck doesn't have ABS, so the previous owner before him must have deleted it or something.

When I bought it the ABS light wasn't on, but it came on soon after I got it home. I call the guy and he says the light come and goes apparently.

The front calipers have wires going them, so I am assuming the truck originally came with 4wABS. If the ABS was deleted, wouldn't these sensors be removed? The brake pedal often feels like its fighting back against my foot.

I guess the real question is how to I verify that the ABS was or wasn't deleted?
