So it started about a month ago but didnt notice it too bad. The problem is when I put it in reverse and start backing up, when I touch the brakes there is a loud "clank" noise and you can feel it in the brake pedal. It is starting to get a little louder now. I haven't had any time off to take it in but wondering if anyone knows what it is?
Truck is a 2011 Lariat EB, 20" Rims, Off Road Pkg.

 

maybe a loose caliper bolt??? Or the clips on the pads not installed right so the pads are shifting?

Either way - I'd take it to a dealer and have it checked out under warranty before it gets worse...

 

check the two main bolts on the caliper bracket. I had this issue on my front right brakes when i last had them changed and its just that it has enough room to move and make the clanking noise. Just a guess good luck

 

thanks...ya i'm taking it to the dealer once I get back from my hunting trip. Figure not going to be used till I get back so I'll take it in then...cheers

 

finally had time to take it it. The dealer said the rear brake pads were loose by 1/8" on both back breaks. So when I put it in reverse that was the clanking would start. Switch both breaks and re-adjusted them and no more problem.
