285/65/17

Looking at getting 285/65/17 on my stock 2006 STX, 4x4(non-leveled). Anyone have any pics with this set-up? Curious how they fill up the wheel-well or even stick-out. From what I've read, there shouldn't be any rubbing issues. Thanks in advance.

I appreciate it! Let me know if there's any issues with the 285/70's like rubbing or any noticeable power loss.

No rubbing at all, even at full turn. My wheels are almost identical to stock specs. Slight power and mpg loss. I have since leveled as I couldn't handle the rake.

here you go all cleaned up 285/70 on stock 17's no level no rubbing. they have only been on for a few days so no clue on actual MPG's but i am sure it hurt the avarage. I have noticed a little power loss but its no race car to begin with, the over all look has made it look so much better.

Now u just need a 2 inch level. Best mod I have done to my truck. Looks way better and when you're driving you feel much higher up.

I agree, the 285x70x17 is a great size tire on a leveled or stock height 4x4.

With the 285/70/17's fit a 4x2 w/o modifications? I know a 265/70/17 will go, not sure if the bigger size is too much..

They will fit with a 2" leveling kit but may rub at stock height.

Thanks man. I didn't want nose high either which is why I went with 2 inch. Perfectly level measured from top of tire to wheelwell. I added rear bags as well, so it stays level when towing or hauling.

FF and JB, thanks for the pics and info!! Gonna go with some 285/70/17's soon for the winter. What a difference a bigger tire makes!

Pretty sure they still have them. They are like 15 minutes from my house. Look up their website, and check. Autospringcorp.com I think. If u don't tow or haul much, why not go with the 2 inch?
