AT or MT (Grappler, Open Country , KM2)
Well, I'm around 45,000 miles on my set of 35x12.50R18 BFG KM2s. They are worn down really bad on the inside. I get a pretty good shake out of the steering wheel at 60+. Bad enough your arms shake. (Has anyone else experienced this with BFG KM2s?) I'm guessing my truck needs an alignment, which it will get anyways with the new set of tires.
I'm having trouble deciding on which tire to get, though. I'd about decided to just go with an all terrain tire until I about got stuck the other day and figured the KM2 is what saved me.
Reasons for an All Terrain:
-I'd like a quieter ride. My wife hates driving my truck because it is so loud.
-I'd like a smoother ride. I was fairly happy with the KM2 until the last 15k miles or so. I'm not a fan of the shimmey it produces or the constant need to pay somebody to balance the tires.
-I'm betting my 14 month old would enjoy the back seat a bit more if the truck wasn't bouncing down the road.
-I do spend most of my time on the pavement. Who doesn't, though.
Reasons for a Mud Terrain:
-Since I started driving at 17, I'm 30 now, I've never ran anything but a mud tire.
-I like the aggressive look. I'd rather not be that way, but it is what it is.
-They're my security blanket. I know they are there just in case I need them.
-I really only use them heavy during the rainy parts of hunting season. Some weeks my truck is in 4wd 3-5 days a week. It is only a couple months out of the year, though.
My current options as I see them. Hoping everyone can give me insight who has ran these tires.

I guess this is what getting old feels like...a smoother ride on an all terrain.

I have 35x12.5x17 Nitto Trail grapplers and I love them. I have a 2wd but I still took it mudding and didnt get stuck once. To me they are very quiet(but I have loud exhaust and the windows up.) so thats never a problem. They have agreat look and are wearing completely even. I recommend them.

go trail grapplers and dont look back, they look great, quiet for a mud tire when on the highway, all you can hear is a gentle humm. the ride isnt too rough. if your shaking at high speeds maybe consider a steering stabilizer. ive had them for 15000km and they still look brand new. terrible on ice but i guess its the same with any mud tire. overall i love the them
