I'm sincerely not trying to be a tool or anything, but have you searched the internet or done any homework on this? Every tire website out there has tons of accurate information covering the basics, including Discount (which also happens to be my favorite BTW). Here's a few links that took about 1 minute to find.

http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoHome.do

http://michelinman.com/michelincom/t...101-home.page?

My suggestion is to read over these (and even find some more) to get a good, factual basis on the basics and then come back here for more specific questions to fit your needs or for further detail.

Well it may have only taken a minute to

Google for those two links but neither offered explanations for what the numbers on my tires mean or the parameters for that data. I'm sure by spending enough time and visiting enough different websites, I'll be able to eventually "decode" all the various cryptic data that I listed. I had kinda figured my question is what this sort of forum is all about.

You did not look very hard as the first one listed has a section called "reading the tires's sidewall". Has everything you asked for.

kingfish51, it did not explain when a tire is given the 'P' verses the 'LT' designator. And furthermore, it didn't 'decode' the second, third or forth items I listed (maybe, I could guess what the 109 meant from their description but it didn't address the 'T' or the M+S codes). It did explain the last three items (treadwear/traction/temp) in terms that could be understood. But I've spent enough time now to answer my own questions - so mission accomplished! Appreciate all the help.

It did explain the 109 and T, load index and speed rating.
Also look at tire types for more info on P series tires. P and LT are also talked about ( tire class). P being passenger and LT being light truck. Look under tire terminology for M&S and also more on each term. It is all there if you look.

Another place to look is at tirerack, but you have to look thoroughly through this section.
