98 f150 4x4 wheel and tire help needed

I have a 98 f150 4x4 reg. cab with long bed. I am looking to put wheels and tires on it and I'm semi lost on where to even begin. I was looking to put 17 inch wheels on it but I'm not entirely sure how big i can go with tire sizes. If someone can, can you please help me out with some opinions and places to buy a good setup? I have a budget about $1100. Its not a ton but its all i have. Thanks in advance!

you can crank the torsion bars and essentially "level" it doing it like that and you can clear 285's. 17's would look damn good. just post a few pics to help.

I'd suggest using a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing and some 33x12.50 tires. You will have to trim the front bumper's plastic slightly to prevent rubbing. I have some pics of my old Screw in my gallary.
