Tire pressure

I have a 98 XLT 3 door 4x4 with the 4.6L, 3.55 w/LSD currently I am running 315/70/17's BFG A/T KO's on the stock rims. I do not do any towing and carry moderate loads in the bed occasionally (350-400lbs adv.) with my old 98 Jeep Wrangler with 35X12.5 BFG A/T KO's i ran the pressure at about 28-30 and that was perfect. I know the truck weighs much more than a Jeep so what pressure is good? a buddy of mine runs at 50psi (same tires same truck) I think that is way to high. what do you think?

Call BFG customer support line. They will tell you their recommended pressure for your set up. I have 285/70/17 TA/KO'S on my 05 screw. I called BFG and they gave me 43 psi for just vehicle and passengers. I have 48,000+ on them.

According to the specs on the BFG site, those are a LR D with a max of 50 psi. Yes 50 would be too high. I would run them around 38 - 40. That should handle anything you are using your truck for. If the tires on your truck are a different load range or max pressure, post back what they are.

Ran my 315x70x17 BFG's at 42 to 44psi on my old '04 Lariat. They wore perfectly at that pressure. Load Range D 50 psi max.
