F150 steel wheels and tires wanted
Hi,
I am looking for a set of 97-up 16 or 17 inch styled steel wheels (the grey ones with the chrome center caps) with Goodyear Wrangler RT/S or General Grabber tires. I believe these come standard on F150's and Expeditions. I need these for my 2001 Lightning, as I don't want to try and drive on the Eagle F1's this winter.
Thanks.
Chad

F150 wheels and tires show up on www.eBay.com all the time. Go to eBay Motors and Search 'f150 wheels' and 'f-150 wheels'
You can find a set of 16" polished aluminum take-offs with or without tires for $200-400. be careful about the shipping charges though. Good luck!

Tires for sale
I just bought a F150 4x4, and it came with the off road rims and tires. Good years 265/70/16. I want to get other tires and rims so if you're interested in purchasing mine, they're brand new with less 500 miles on them. E-mail me at F1504x4orp@aol.com

Ebay
Hi,
I went to Ebay last night, found several sets of 16 and 17 inch wheels, but none of them had tires on them. I did bid on a set of polished 16 inch takeoffs, if I get them I can get a decent deal on the tires from Tirerack.com. We'll see.

Sounds like a great plan. I was thinking of getting a set of the 16" polished aluminum rims also.
My plan was to get smaller/wider street-only tires for commuting and drag racing, and using my all-terrains in the winter and for 4-wheeling. Maybe next year when more funds are available!
If you have the time and patience, bid during the last few minutes of the auction. That way you won't bump the price up and draw more attention to the item, and you can sometimes get a better deal.
Howie.

Ok, I'm confused...
I bid on a set of 16 inch polished wheels from an F150. Assuming these aren't from a brand new 2001 truck, as I'm sure they're not, will they fit my 2001 Lightning? I just assumed that all 97-up F150's/Expeditions had the same bolt pattern, offset, lug hole sizes, etc. Now I see something in an ad on Ebay that 2000 and later trucks have a 14 mm lug stud diameter, while earlier ones have 12mm. I NEED to know if these wheels will even fit my truck.
Thanks.

I have a set of 16" factory rims and tires..
I need to sell them.. They have about almost 50% tread left. They are chrome steel. E mail if interested i will let go cheap.. They will fit all trucks but you may need different lug nuts or use your old ones. I got new lugs and you can have the ones that go with the original rims. The tires are 265/75/16. and are a mild all terrain tire. They are wide brutes or something.

No problem man just let me know i could e mail you pics if you want.. You might also ask if the brakes are bigger on the lightning also. I know when i went to the AVT cobra Braking system on my mustang the only size wheels that would clear the fronts were 17X9 and up. I put 18"s on that car which is what i wanted anyway...
