Angry Crappy pads

Those commies at my local Ford dealer sold me cheap pads! They're shot after barely 12,000 miles! No harsh driving, only occasional towing... anyone else had anything like this?

Cool

FYI,

I use linings from carbotech engineering (they have a web site). Pads or shoes run about $120 a set but they are quiet, stop very well (better than OEM), no brake fade, less dust than OEM. Estimate my wear mileage at 60,000+. I have their linings on pads & shoes on multiple vehicles.

Note: Service is outstanding!!!!(and I don't say that about very many suppliers)

Make sure you check the hubs on that 4x4. A bad bearing in there will chew up pads and rotors every 5-10K.

Well, I got some good pads now... overheard some of the Lightning boys talking about ceramic pads. Not to bad for $70 from Napa. Went ahead and bought new rotors too... came out to about $300 after labor (they took my truck after I told them NOT to work on it, just look at it). Whatcha gonna do, eh?

The hubs, not bearings. They are a sealed bearing unit. You replace the whole hub if needed.
