which m/t

hey guys, well the time has come for me to put new tires on my truck. i always go with bfg a/t. this time i want to mix it up a little. m/t but which one? i was going to go with pro comp xtreme m/t till i discovered the copper stt. i might also be able to get the mickey thompson mtz for a similar price as the tires above. i was wanting real world reviews from people good, bad ,and ugly. pictures are always welcomed.i was planning on getting 285/70/17 on a '06 f150 4x4 with billstiens adjustables, as i seached and confirmed this size would fit nicely. thanks

Toyo M/T. I've had 5 sets and never any type of complaints.

I too love my Toyo M/Ts. 33x12.5/R20. 46,000 on them with at least another 6,000 to squeeze out.

I had the Toyo MT's 295x70x17 (33.5x12) on my '04...sold the truck with 23k miles on them and were less then half worn. Great tires but heavy and pricey...good tire in the rain also!

Those are all good tires. All three are also manufactured by Cooper Tire. But the Toyo MT and Nitto Trail Grappler perform better on pavement and are quieter.

Don't overlook the GY MT/R w Kevlar - reinforced sidewall for rock traction - nice rubber to void ratio for mud and a real nice highway feel for a MT tire.

Well it looks like Toyos seem to be the choice of professionals around here. I was hoping to stay under $1200. Thanks for the great input guess I got some more research to do.

desertrat.com has some pretty reasonable prices on a lot of the popular tires. thats where i got my wheel and tire package. fast shipping too. not sure you wanted to go that route if possible. just my 2 cents...

I like my Maxxis bighorns. I like how they drive. Not sure on the wear rate on them as I've only personally put about 3k on mine. They seem to do the trick though! About the cheapest I could find too.

Don't know if these days, if you can get all season stock size tires for under $1200.

Thanks for all the advise. But sorry to say that I have chosen to go with an a/t due to it will suit me and my interests better rather than what I wanted. So when I get some free time this week I am going down to get tires. Looking to get 285/70/17.

Ive run most of those tires and I really did like the toyo's but i went with the baja mtz's this time on the jeep and the truck and I really like how they perform, have about 35000 kms on the truck and they still have around half tread. The ones on the jeep are still pretty much new looking.
