Rim a Bolt pattern
Giday
None of my friends know for sure so I am asking everyone here. I figure there are more “Experts” here than anywhere. What ever happened to the good ‘ol days when a Ford rim fit a Ford and Chevy rim fit a Chevy? Now they have different rims for every season it seems.
I have a 1999 F-150 Lariat 2WD Extended Cab and I have been looking for a spare set of rims for it. The spare tire has been stored underneath the bed and since I live in Atlantic Canada I wouldn’t dare use it on a mini trailer right now. Also I am looking to put Winter tires on a set rather than changing tires every season.
Does anyone know the proper rim size/bolt pattern for this truck? I know they are 16 inch and I had seen some for sale with a 5 X 4.5 bolt pattern but am unsure as to whether they would fit or not. I see lots of 15” but not many 16” for sale.
Thanks
Al

In either 99 or 00, Ford went from a 12mm lug to a 14 mm lug. So, a truck with factory 12mm lugs will accept the 97 - 04 (Heritage Body Style 04) wheels. But you may have an interference fit if you try to fit wheels designed for the 12 mm lugs on a truck with 14 mm lugs. Also, you can not use wheels from a F150 that had the 7700 HD payload package. Those are 7 lugs.

With the very rare exception of the 15" wheels that were available for the pre-august (or around there) 97' f150's. Ford went to a bigger caliper after that so they don't fit any of the other trucks after, but finding a set of those is like a needle in a haystack anyways.
