In Market for new tires - 2000 F150 4X4
Browsed though a few pages here and everyone seems to run different tires so figured people might give me some input on a new set?
Live in Vancouver where there's plenty of rain, a little bit of snow, and I do mostly road/highway driving with a little dirt road/logging road stuff from time to time when hunting/fishing/cabin
right now i'm running some Canadian tire cheapo tires which have actually been amazing, these are only the 2nd set of tires on the truck and they've seen about 90,000km,s and still have about 15% on them, but i think towards the end of summer i will be needing a change, so ive kinda picked out these:
BFG Rugged Terrain: - although they are the "rugged" terrain these look like they would be much better for highway/road than the "All-terrain" no?

BFG All Terrain: I like the look of the A/T the most, beefy off-road look but im asuming with this style of tread your looking at faster wear?

What you guys think? Id like a tire that is good enough in the rain/bit of snow that i dont need to buy snow tires for the little snow we get

The rugged terrain is a decent all around tire but don't last too long, in my opinion the bfg all terrain is the best, I put 90,000 miles on a set I had on a Toyota, and so far have 64,000 on the ones on my jeep and they still have atleast 1/2 tread. And just ordered a new set for my 06 scab fx4.

I heard good things about the All Terrains, but I wanted something different. The Scorpions I don't like. I did a lot of research (back in 2011 that is), and I ended up going with Cooper Discoverer AT3's. I bought a set and put them on a second set of 18" stock rims. That was in Sept. '11. They handle great. I feel confident in wet weather, and off road on my property in West Virginia they are great. And they are quite. In march I bought a set of KMC rims. I've been so pleased with the AT3's that I went ahead and mounted a new set of AT3's on them. I'm keeping the original set for winter use. When I pulled the first set off the truck, Those AT3's had about 21,000 miles on them. They have worn evenly and still have about 2/3 - 3/4 tread left. They have a 55,000 mile limited warranty. So I think they are doing pretty well. Let us know what you got...............

Take a look at the Kelly Safari TSr. I am running them on my Expd, and like them a lot better than the BFGs I had on my f150. They have been a great all around tire, and performed flawlessly in dry, rain, snow and ice. They have gotten out of afew pretty narley spots while helping my father in law on his farm. I just passed 40K miles and should get at least another 20k.
