plasti dipped rims

Does anyone have any rims like this painted black? with plasti dip or anything. I want to see what they look like, and I want a new look for my truck.

there are thousands of pictures where morons plasti-dipped their wheels in an attempt to "change things up"

however, fortunately this "trend" is finally fizzling out, and people are starting to back to washing their wheels on a regular basis again (because they finally figured out that black wheels show brake dust as well)

Just buy a $5 can of it and spray one wheel. If you like it, buy enough to do all 4 and leave it for a few weeks. Worst case scenario, you peel it off and you're out $15-20!

And there are plenty of google pics with this wheels and similar that have been plastidip'd

Huh, my Lowe's has it for $5 something, about $6 after taxes. And has plenty of it! Multiple colors at times too. But I remember the great PD shortage when we had to drive pretty far away to get some, and the place would have like 2 cans haha

It's alright, I'm so close to the "big city" (Houston) that my Lowe's services a huge population haha. If only some mom and pop places were left down here . . .

I wouldn't trust PlastiDip to last on a truck rim. Powdercoat would be far more durable, but probably blows your budget.

Plasti-dip. That crap doesn't last on our tools at the fighter plant and it sure as heck won't last on wheels. Neither will paint for that matter.

Wear dollar store sunglasses and your wheels will be dark. Much cheaper too.

These are my winter set and I sprayed before i found out about plasti dip. I sprayed them with Rust-Oleum Truck Bed Coating in a spray can and then but clan coat on them and they have held up. This just gives you and idea of what they will look like. I would go with plasti dip though for rims. I have done all my chrome emblems and works and looks great. If you don't like it. Peel it off!!

Yes, powder coat and proper paint are better. But, plastidip will, at the very least, provide an idea of what your truck will look like with the wheels black. Other options are permanent, PD is not. You simply cannot go wrong doing anything in PD; dirt cheap and reversible
