Can i fit 33x12.5 on my leveled 05 f-150 2wd?

I have a 2005 f-150 stx 2wd with a 2.5" level and want to put 33x12.5 toyo open country m/t tires with 15 inch rims. will they fit without rubbing or with very minor rubbing?

Nope, biggest reason you can't use 15" rims nor do they even make them for your truck in the 6x135 bolt pattern.

Smallest you can get for your truck is a 17" wheel. Then depending on wheel specs they should fit no problem, as long as you don't go with a very low offset or extremely wide wheel.

So would a 17x10/6x135 rim be better suited for it?

You will need to add more lift to fit 33's with a 10 inch wide wheel. If you use your stock wheels, or a 8 inch wide wheel with 5 or 5.5 inches of backspacing, you could fit 33x12.50's.
