Raptor Rims Advice

My brother's friend is selling his Raptor rims and offered them to me but I'm not sure if they will fit/rub. I have a 2005 Lariat Screw with 275/65/18 tires. I have some Rancho Quicklifts that will level off the front end but I haven't put them on yet which will give me some more room to work with. Would the Raptor rims fit on my tires? The tires are brand new and only have about 2500 miles on them and I don't want to have to buy new tires so soon. Thanks for any advice/input

Raptor rims will fit your truck, but they are 17" so your current tires will not fit the rim. With a 2" level you can fit stock raptor tires and wheels on our trucks.

18" tires won't fit on a 17" wheel. And raptor tires would only fit if you're 4wd

Raptor tires would only fit 4wd? But the Raptor rims should be fine on my 2wd? Also I'm looking now at some tires that are 265/70/17 with the Raptor rims. Would there be any scrubbing and how would my driving change?

Correct, the wheels will work but the stock tires on raptors won't.

As for the new tires I think you'd be happy with something a little bigger because those are going to small than the tires you have now.

What would be a better tire? I don't want tires that are so big that will affect my MPG

Just about anything you change will affect mpg, switching from a street tire to an all terrain will effect it even, just depends on what you consider an acceptable amount.

Well what do you think is a decent size tire to add to the Raptor rims? In August I'll be moving to school so it'll be 2 hour highway drive one way when I come home every now and then and some local driving.

I'd do something around a 285/70r17 or a 305/65r17. Both are right under a 33" tire, so they won't hit the gas hard. Ones about 11.2" wide the other is 12" wide.

Unless you REALLY want those wheels, or you can get them cheaply, I wouldn't buy them. I bought a set of used wheels for a "good" price (ended up costing me $600 by the time they were done) and I like them, but if I could go back, I would've just spent more money and gotten brand new wheels that I chose myself. I think this applies to you even more because you would have to by ANOTHER set of brand new tires. I kept the wheels for 8 months before I put them on when my old tires wore down. So if you don't think these are awesome wheels and you for sure wouldn't want to change them until you got out of school, I wouldn't buy them.

Remember that you're gonna lose maybe $300-400 (perhaps less) on having to swap tires, so add that to the cost of the Raptor wheels

The guy with the wheels said he bought the Raptor new and drove it 15 miles to the shop where he replaced them and the tires. He's giving them to me for $300 which is a good deal.

And yea my original plan was to run down these tires and then get some wheels and tires I wanted which were the XD Rockstars which would've been close to $700 just for the rims. And I still might just get the rims and put them on when its time for new tires. But a local shop that I've been going to for years now with my vehicles says they'll do a trade in discount with my current tires because they only have 2500 miles on them with still plenty of tread so I'll see what it'll cost me for some new tires and if I don't like it I can always just wait. Just asking yall for advice on what I should do because all yall on here know your stuff and are always helpful. Thank you.

Also what are the specs for the Raptor wheels? I only have pictures from my brother and my wheels now are 6 lug x 135 but what about the Raptor? Do they have any offsetting or backspacing vs my current wheels?

I wanna say the raptor wheels will stick out about .5" farther than your stock wheels but I could be wrong.

So what would be a good tire brand to look at for these sizes?
