Toyo 275x60x20 AT2's...first 5K miles.

So far so good with these P rated tires that are a step above the stock Pirelli's...I sold my LT Nitto Terra's and went with these lightweight tires..only 43 lbs ea. I re-gained about 2 mpg and some of the lost performance that the heavy Nitto's caused. Great traction in the rain and in light offroad use. I don't tow anything over 4K lbs and since I retired I don't really need a 10 ply tire either! Good choice for someone that doesn't need a heavy tire but still want's some offroad traction and look's.Name: 010-1_zpsb37baa3a.jpg

Great update...thanks Paw!

I am still considering the AT II but the Extremes. Pricey little suckers but the ratings are pretty good, and I love the fact that they are R and S speed rated (rather than the slower Q for 33-35 inch sizes). But still not convinced those tires will fit with my "off road" theme build I am doing right now with the ADD bumper, raptorish suspension upgrades, etc. that scream for a much more aggressive looking tire and wheel package.

But I agree about having the performance and mileage back...both are great reasons why I am still shying about from the ultra-heavy Nittos and Toyos (unless looks win out over rational thinking...lol)

Thank's Dawg...I think on your new off road them some MT's would look a little better but decrease fuel mileage just a little over the Extreme AT tires. You have such a knack at modding these truck's I'm sure either tire would look great! Can't wait to see the end result.

Bought another set of the P275x60x20 Toyo AT2's for my new truck. Have about 2K miles on them and they are doing great. 33x11 and not that heavy so they're a good compromise tire for someone that doesn't need a LT tire. Name: 37fe717c-d3f5-43cd-b6d0-f499fa8449ff_zps3e53bff7.jpg

Hey Paw, did going up in size, even if only from a 55 to a 60 series, do anything to the speedo/comp for the mpg and actual miles/speed on the display?

Can you tell me what the load rating is on those tires too? Just curious, since I've always had LT tires before, but that was with 16" wheels, so...

Thanks!

Mitch

Only 1 inch difference in height so it's not off that bad. Load is 2,601 lbs for this tire so it's capable of handling a fairly stout load or towing up to 5K lbs. Dealer claims they can't correct for this size but I have a mechanic that can as soon as he get's back from vacation. I don't want to spend $400 buck's for a tuner to adjust for a 1 inch height increase. My '11 was right on the money with these same tires but I think the '13 is off a little.

Thanks! Good to know. It'll be a while before I consider new tires anyway (gonna wait and see how the OEM Bridgestone's handle a full winter, but I think they are gonna suck.. )

So far so good with the towing and dry road driving.. Haven't had it really off road to speak of yet, so that'll be a factor too..

I really like the Toyo AT's.. Had a set on the 97 and they did well..

Thanks again,

Mitch

I had the same tires installed today. It's amazing the comfort and power I get back not having LT tires.

That should be the perfect tire, great to hear all good about it, even the sound on highway. I wouldn't go too for heavier tires.

Even being a lightweight tire the rolling resistance may cause a loss of 1/2 to 1 mpg but that's not bad considering the tires look better and have some decent traction. Well satisfied with them on both of the truck's I've had them on.

Hit the 7K mile mark and had them rotated today and also an oil change. Tires are holding up great...hope to get 50K out of them.

Took a short 100 mile round trip yesterday and averaged 19.6 mpg...not bad for a heavy 4x4 Screw. Being lightweight at 43 lbs ea. these tires are a good compromise for looks and fuel mileage while still offering some offroad traction.

Hit the 12K mile mark with these tires and they are doing great. No balance problems...flats or unusual wear. Like the traction in the rain and during light offroad use. Ought to get 50 to 60K miles easily!!

Close to 20K miles on the tires so far and they're doing great. Hardly any visual wear to the tires running 37 psi cold and look like they'll go at least 50K miles easily.
