2013 F150 Limited - Winter Wheel and Tire Options

I would like to go to 17" or 18" wheels and a studded tire for winter.
How do I choose the correct wheel ...... offset, backspacing

OEM Tire size is P275/45VR22

Thanks,
cj9

I'd look for a set of OEM takeoffs.

I've been lookin all summer but haven't found any.
I'm in Alaska. Most of us have a set of summer and winter wheels so it's harder to find takeoffs.

Cool

In general, with a winter tire, It's better to go to a narrower, taller tire, and put them on all four corners. Make sure you keep the same tire diameter/ratio so your speedo stays accurate. Go to www.1010tires.com. They have a calculater. and www.tirerack.com is a good place for info. www.onlinetires.com has real good prices from time to time. And www.coopertire.com. I've been using studded tires forever. I usually keep a set mounted on a set of stock steel rims and switch them each season. I've tried the studdless winter tires like the Blizzaks before and didn't like them very much. But that was quite a few years ago. I imagine they have improved since then? I've been using the Cooper Weathermaster II's for years on my '94 T'bird, and on a '91 Tracer LTS 5-speed I had a few years ago. That little car went everywhere. I've been thinking about using a studded tire this year on the truck, so we'll see.

Thanks, I'm thinkin Cooper Discoverer M+S,either 275/65/18 or 265/70/17.
For the wheels, Eagle 050 Chrome. they have a +25 offset.

Cool

I was thinking about the Discoverer M+S too. If they are as good as the Weathermasters Then you/I'll be a happy camper

They are good, had them on a company truck a couple of winters ago.

Found out the factory wheel offset is +44
I decided to go with some chrome clad factory take offs (same offset) so the tires stay within the fender.
I have weathertech no drill mudflaps and they don't extend out far enough for the factory tires. Getting road rash on the rocker panels. I hate mudflaps that stick out but i may change them to prevent rock chips.
Tires are/will be 265/70/17 studded.

Cool

That's a good choice. Will give you plenty of meat. It's been a while since I've been on the 1010tire site. I went to check your sizes out on their calculator and they changed it. The old calculator compared pictures of the tire sizes by profile and diameter. Now it's gone. It was cool to see the comparison. Oh Well

Cool

No, but that's close. The one that use to be on 1010tire, you could show the side-by-side diameter like the first diagram, or the profile showing the tread width similar to the overlay, or both together. But at least that one gives a decent comparison.
