Question ABS Module Replacement

Hi Guys,

Hopefuly I have posted this question in the right area of the forum.

Anyhow my truck is the 2002 F150 Harley Davidson 5.4L V8 Supercharged version and it needs a new ABS module. Unfortunately the previous owner didnt remove it properly and basically rendered it useless and unable to be repaired.

Therefore my question is, will any ABS module from a standard F150 from around that time be a suitable replacement?

Appreciate any help.

Cheers

The only difference I could think of is if potentially they put a different set of parameters on the HD version due to larger wheels.

But typically they try to use the same module on all versions.

Maybe try going to a parts website and plug in your vehicle info and see what PN they list for the module. Then change it to a different vehicle (XLT, etc) and see if the PN changes

They will use the same module however the software version may be different. This would be necessary for different performance tunes based off of tires, suspension, etc

Yeah... I think it is VIN Specific as far as program and whatnot. I would try calling dealer to get the part number for that VIN, then you can find it elsewhere or get it thru them. At least you can get a quote from ford to see how much you will save by getting somewhere else!

When I used to sell for NAPA stores I would call 18002471158. Mills Parts something.... they carry OE parts for ford chrysler GM (i think) nissan and some others too i think? They sold oe parts for about 30% less than the dealers.

I'm in the same boat with my abs module but I'm being told it's bad plus i found out the front don't have the abs sensors on it. Would this cause the brakes to be spongy I've replaced the rotors put new brakes on it and bleed the system twice and still no change
