285/75/16 or 245/75/16 or 265/75/16 winter tires for 97 f150

I got a 97 f150 with the 4.6 4x4 I got 285/75/16 Goodyear wrangler silent armor tires on my truck right now that are gettin worn and was wondering on ideas for new tires, I like the look of the 285/75/16 tires but I'm concerned about safety right now as we got a lot of snow and needing new tires, what would be a good size for the snow? I'd like to keep with a 285 but smaller wouldn't hurt, I would at least regain some power, just hate the way these models looke when the wheel wells arnt filled in, any advice on tire size and some good tires for an affordable price thanks everyone

For snow tires, the narrower the better, so stick with 75 series. 285's would be fine.
