Experience with Bridgestone 285/50 HR18 Yet?

I'm expecting to put a new set of Lightning 18 x 9.5 wheels on my red '99 Regular Cab Step-Side. the only trouble is I don't want Goodyear 295/45 ZR18 Eagle F1 tires on them because they won't provide any more than about 18,000 miles of wear.

So, I began looking at alternative tires. And I have finally come up with the Bridgestone 285/50 HR18. Bridgestone says it will give me about 40,000 miles of wear. I don't know whether to believe them or not. But, on the positive side, the tire is suppose to be super quiet to drive (compared to the Goodyear). It's also a little bit less expensive. $178 at Tire Rack. It has a nice, low prfile just like the Goodyear but it's 29.2 inches tall, which is almost exactly the height of my origianl 16 inchers. So, my speedo won't be off hardly a fraction of a mile per hour, or a tenth
of a mile in ten miles. And, it looks great too.

The only question I have....has anyone tried the brand new tire yet. Can you give me any feedback on it?

Thanks in advance.

Talking

SlickWillie and I just put Bolt wheels on our trucks too. Unfortunately neither of us used the Bridgestones. Slick got the Pirelli Zeros and I got the Michellin Pilots. We bought 285/55/18's not 50's. So we can't give you a good review of the new tires. Sorry
Here is the link to our thread we had going. You might find it useful for everything else you'll need like nuts , and locks.

All I know is Slick and I couldn't be happier with our purchases and you will be too. You can try to imagine them on your truck but it's nothing like the feeling you'll get once you actually see them on with the tires and all. Worth every penny!
Good luck Bill!

I've got 285/60/18 Dueler HP's mounted on chrome L wheels. I also have the Dueler HT's mounted on my factory wheels for winter. Great tires. Ride smooth and quiet. The HP's are a directional tire. Good luck.

285/50 - 18R

I have the 285/50 - 18R tires but.......... mine are yokohoma's. The seemed to be the cheapest tire around. The don't have a warranty but I've had them on for about 15,000 and I can barely tell any tread wear. I'm sure they will last me atleast 30,000 miles. I paid $186 a piece for my tires and I love them, I'll probably get the same things when its time for new tires. Also, nobody knows what the heck they are, nobody has seen many yokohoma's around and everywhere I go, people ask me about my tires. The tread pattern is sweet, I suppose that gets people attention. but anyway, they seem to be great tires so far and they are the size you were looking for. Just maybe an alternative choice in your tire selection.
