'07 Rear brake drag
Hey All
'07 FX4w/110k.
Got out of my truck and smelled brakes. Truck felt funny w/a shimmy on the highway. The rear pass side rim was warm and I could hear pinging like a motorcycle cooling down. Been driving and working fine until today. Brakes have about 50k on them and had the e-brake adjusted a few months ago.
I keep a brake spoon in my center console and couldn't get the adjusting spur to turn. Which way to loosen the pads? Is it the same direction on the driver side? Is it a left hand thread on one side and a right hand thread on the other?
Any thoughts as to why this happened?
Thanks

I had this happen to me 2 years ago... I couldn't even get the rotor off the hub. I didn't want to damage the rotor, so I took it to the dealer. Go to find out it just needed to be cleaned up, lubed and adjusted. Very odd for it just to start doing it, especially when I use the e-brake regularly because mine is stick shift.
Anyhow my 2007 F150 has a cap that you can pop off from under the truck and adjust the little wheel or gear and adjust the parking brake pads.
Try tightening that wheel back up until you can't tighten it anymore and back it off 5 or 6 times. Make sure your parking brake isn't set while doing this. If you bring your rear tires off the ground, you can check to see if it's engaging while you're down there. Just play around with it a bit until you get the tension set the way you want it.
