How big may I go with out a lift?
I wanted to know how big I could go with just factory settings or just raising the front torsion bars? I have a 1998 F-150 4x4 Off Road. I am willing to buy new rims! I was told I was able to fit some 33's but I am not sure! GIVE ME SOME INPUT!!!!!!!!!!

Alot of people are running 285/75/16 or 305/70/16 with no problem. they are both equivelent to a 33. I have also seen a couple of trucks running 315/75/16 with a little torsion tweak. They are 35 inches tall.

I want 33x12.5 15LT think it will work?
Yes i was wanting to put some 33x12.50 15LT on my truck. I am hoping I won't have to trim or raise anything. The tire I would choose would be BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO's or the new Radial Mud-Terrain T/A! Do you think it will fit on my rig? I hope it does I am almost ready to buy! Thanks!

285/75/16's on 16x10 factory alluminum
Hi there! I have now put 35'000 km's on my BFG 285/75/16 AT's with VERY little wear and absolutely no rubbing.....this including situations under maximum suspension flex! I would recommend this mod to anyone. As an added bonus...on flat straetches, when travelling near the speed limit, I have noticed an improvement in mileage. This is NOT the case however in the city, or driving at "normal" hehe highway speeds. Good Luck!

i have a 97 f150 with the 17 in. factory wheels and tires. ive asked the same [?] and also got mixed answers. im putting on a 3 inch body lift and 33x12.50 tires on 15x10 rims. some people said 35,s would fit with no lift others said a lift for 33,s. im going to bypass anymore confusion. good luck

Hope you got rims with a small backspacing if you went with the 15s. I'm still trying to figure out why everyone wants to run 15" rims on their trucks. Virtually all tire manufacturers are making more and more 16" tires. Heck I was looking on Interco's website and of all the new tire sizes they listed most were for 16" rims.
I've been running 285/75/16s on my factory rims for about 9 months and have not had a single problem with them. I can't get them to rub at full articulation. I don't have a picture of the other side, maybe in the video that John shot. But the tire wasn't rubbing anywhere in this shot.

I have a set of 15x10 wheels on my 4x4 ORP. They fit but the wheel is within an 1/8th of an inch from my front brake caliper. So if you run 15 inch wheels be careful of the placement of sticker weights for balancing.
33 inch tires will fit, without rubbing, on the stock wheels. Aftermarket 4x4 wheels usually have more backspacing which makes them set out wider on the truck, this is where you will have your problems with the 33 inch tires.
