305/40/22 Tires for F150 Limited

Any suggestions on a 305/40/22 tire for a 2014 Limited? Just bought a new left over and the stock tires are just too narrow. What's your opinion on the General Grabber?

If you are looking for street tires I like the Nitto NT420S. I am on my 2nd set. They stick like glue. If you are looking for an AT tire I am sure someone will chime in soon.

Know this may be a thing for the younger generation
But why would anybody want to go from 18" tires to 22" tires.

I used to ask the same thing. I am not young. At 43 years old I have had people ask me why I modify my truck at my age. Just drive it they say. It’ll be fine they say. I just look at theirs and ask them why they don’t? You go to a car lot to buy a vehicle and until you make it your own, it’s just another truck on the road. I have never lost my truck in a parking lot. I can tell my truck from a good distance, even by sound.

I have to say that the 22” wheels just fit the truck better. These trucks are not small. To throw a dinky 17 or 18” wheel with an undersized tire on there just cries out “look at all my wheel gap!”. Replace only the tire with a bigger one and it’s all tire. That looks stupid too. In certain situations this might be good for performance but I think people who stuff a big ol tire on a stock rim just to get that lift need a lesson in saving money and doing it right. Now, don’t get me wrong. I don’t do rubber band tires and 30” wheels. I think those look stupid too. I like a decent sized wheel but I want to retain my ride comfort which is why I went with the 305/40/22. Still rides like a truck but it corners well and responds faster to steering commands. I know its not a sports car but enhancing steering, breaking, power or looks can only be a plus.

The tires look like Wagon Wheels. They wheels get bent too easily if you hit a pot hole.
They cost too much.
And you make more people want to steal your wheels.
I know the larger tires have thinner sidewalls now too.
I'm not 43, I'm 64.
I can make it mine without wheels that big.

Sounds like you took my post a little personal, it was not intended as such. You make valid points. The gist of my post was to make it your own no matter what others think, even me.

The General Grabber UHP is a nice tire that has a very square shoulder for a wider tread width. The tire looks wider than other 305-40-22's as a result.

Another tire you should look at is the Cooper Zeon LTZ. It's a hybrid street/all terrain tire that rides very quietly compared to other tires that look as aggressive.

I've got them on my Harley Davidson F150 & love them. Check the pics in my album.

There's a few Limiteds on this forum with the Coopers.

Nielboy, I really like the looks of the coopers on yours. The stance looks SO much better. Any rubbing? I've tried searching for the other Limited's with the coopers but can't seem to find the pics.

Thanks for your input.

No rubbing whatsoever. They're are almost identical in diameter to the OEM Pirelli's.

Post #436. I think there are more pics...but here's a start on this forum.

Here's an even bigger Terra Grappler 305-45-22 on a Limited.

That's all I could find right now. There's more though....I remember seeing the Coopers on both Limiteds & newer Harleys.
