Question 17" Rims and Tires

I am in desperate need of new tires. Got 50K out of the General Grabbers, but the back is almost bald and the front is not far behind. I am really interested in a good street tire such as the Michelin Pilot LTX or the Nitto 404. As much as I would like to go to 18", 17" is a good balance of price and looks for me. Does anybody have any experience with the tires or suggestions for other brands? What is the tread life expectancy? I drive aggressively and try not to squeal the tires, but with the General Grabbers they do anything but "Grab". I do not drive offsroad at all.

The second problem I have is I really don't have the money to buy the wheels I want right now. If you know of somebody that is getting new wheels and is willing to make a deal for there old 17" stock wheels please drop me an e-mail.

Just in case I'm not able to afford the 17" wheels and tires I would also like a recommendation on a good 16" street tire.

Thanks for you help.
