Question 16" Sport Tires

I have narrowed my choices down to either the Pirelli Scorpion Zero or the Michelin Pilot LTX. I've had Michelin's in the past and they are pricy, but you get what you pay for. I've also heard very good things about the Pirelli except that tread life may be questionable.

What kind of mileage can I expect out of the Michelin's? out of the Pirelli's?

The Michelin Pilot only comes in 265/70 on a 16" rim, but there are three choices on the Scorpion Zero's

255/55 R16
275/60 R16
285/65 R16

Will the 255/55 R16 look too small? Are the 285/65 R16 too big?

I would appreciate any advice.

Not sure what look you want, but the 255/55/R16 will only have an outside diameter of 27". The smallest tire that comes stock on the F150 is a 235/70/R16, which is roughly a 29" outer diameter. The 275/60/R16 would have an OD almost identical to the 235/70/R16, and the the 285/65/R16 would be roughly a 30.5" diameter.

Hope this helps...

Well I just went down to Discount Tire and ordered my new tires. I decided on the Pirelli Scorpion Zero 275/60 R16. Discount Tire said this size is discontinued, and they didn't have any, but I asked him to call Pirelli and they had 4 in Mississippi. They should be here in 5 days. Total bill without road hazard is $675. It is a little bit wider and only 1" shorter than stock. That should only put my speedo off 2.57 mph at 70. Should I bother getting my speedo adjusted to read correctly?

Thanks to everybody who has written in about the Yoko AVS S/T. They guy at discount tire tried pushing these, but when I told him about all the comments here saying they were a noisy tire he dropped it.
