Question Does this tire size exist?

Looking for a 315/60/R16 for my truck, anyone know of this size exists and through whom? I need this size to keep the overall truck height the same yet get a wider footprint. Thanks.

I hope you don't expect those to fit on the stock rims.

What are your current tires? Those right there are 30.9" x 12.4"

There's nothing from Discount Tire or Tire Rack, so I'd say probably not...

Answers...

My stock wheels are 16's, and stock tires are 245/75/16, for an overall diamter of 30.5 inches. I want to buy new rims and tires to get the widest tires possible without getting taller than 31 inches....if this size doesn't exist, can anyone suggest an alternative? I'm hearing that the 15" rims won't fit without a bizzare offset.

Thanks

Check out BFGoodrich http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/

they have their Sport Truck T/A tire in two sizes close to what you are looking for, LT315/55R16 and LT345/55R16, the diameters are 29.8" and 31.2". The tread is also a street tread, if that's what you're looking for.

Exclamation

I forgot to mention that I want off-road capable tires, I saw the sport truck tires from BFG as well, but they're no good off-road.

A 265/70-16 would be the same height (31 inches). I think BFG makes it in the AT/KO but I am not sure. I know other companies make it in an all-terrain tire. Some make a 275/70-16 that would only be a little taller, maybe half an inch. As I am sure you know everyone makes a 265/75-16 which is 32 inches tall.

Question WHY?

Ok, so you want offroad capabilities, yet you want to preserve the stock height. That's a completly contradictory statement. Go with a 305/70/R16. that'll raise your truck up maybe an inch if that. You'll still be able to fit in garages etc. Also, with that little bit of a sidewall, any offroading, you will blow bead after bead. You need a good amount of sidewall so It can flex and protect your rims. Hope this helps... Klaibs

I don't see the two as being contradictory at all. I think the main idea here was to keep some off-raod capability in the tires rather than go with a street truck tire, thats all.

Hey look at it this way - I wanted some off road ability and same size tire, so I switched from the All Season tires to a All Terrain tires for better mobility in the situations I see - Some construction sites, logging roads while hunting, grass and wet grass. At the same time, I maintain the stock performace of my rig in terms of overall drive ratios, etc.. They don't have to be mutually exclusive! Although, I can see that somewhat depends on your definition of off-road!

That is where defining your terms comes into play
