Rotating Tires.

HOW MANY OF YOU ROTATE YOUR TIRES EVERY 5000 MILES? THAT'S TO SOON FOR ME? MAYBE EVERY 12000 SOUNDS ALRIGHT. I HAVE 9500 MILES ON MY TRUCK AND CAN SEE NO SIGNS OF WEAR YET. SO I'M GONNA LEAVE EM' ALONE TILL 12000. JUST WONDERING, WHEN DO YOU GUYS ROTATE YOUR TIRES?

WOLVERINE,
I agree 5000 miles seems to be alittle quick. I try and do mine about 7500 miles or so. It's kinda hard to see any wear sometimes unless you took the tire off and set it beside a new tire that is the same. Not sure if I would wait until 12,000 that might be a little to much.

I do mine around 6-7K as well. Better to rotate to often than not often enough I suppose.

I rotate my tires every 5000 miles, while I'm changing the oil. At the same time I clean the brake dust and tar from the wheels, inside and out.

I got 100,000 miles out of my original tires (5 tire rotation) on my 4x4.

I watched my wear patterns and it was time at 6000 miles. I Rotated and haven't had any trouble or rebalancing yet.

I have 12000 miles on my SuperCrew; rotated the wheels at 5000 mile intervals and show very little wear. The original Goodyear RT/S tires are terrible at 70 mph and higher or when it's windy. I think I'll let them go and replace them with real tires this summer! Rotating does work though.

Free tire rotation

Discount Tire, a national chain, rotates tires and does flat repairs for free. No gimmicks, does'nt matter where your tires came from. When you can get it done free with no hassle it makes sense to rotate frequently(5000 miles) as recommended.

I don't work for them just happened to stumble across the deal when I had a flat.

I am faithful, every 5,000 miles. It gives me a chance to clean the brake dust & put some polish on the inside of the rim. (It helps having 2 floor jacks & jack stands- pure motivation, especially having to do the wife's truck as well)

Most tire warranties require documented 8,000 mile tire rotations.

I currently do a 8k mile cross tire rotation. With my next set of tires, this spring, I'm doing a 5 tire rotation every 5k.

I rotate my tires when I start noticing significant wear on the fronts, usually around 20,000 miles. You might think that's way too long but I get well over 50,000 miles per set. The less times you take a tire off the truck the less likely the expensive alloy wheels are going to get damaged.

I was told by a technician that with A/T's your best bet against cupping is to rotate every 3-4000. Not required but the best precaution with the more aggressive pattern.
