you'll have no problem with 17's and my truck was lowered 3/4 " I got rid of the 16s the first week i had the truck. I still have the 17" rims with new rubber on them for sale since I upgraded to custom boyd wheels. The old 17" setup = 275/60/17 Continentals are on stock 17" ford rims. here's an old photo

As far as engine light going on because of tires... I'm wondering what that guy was smoking?

I put stock 17"(upgraded from the 16") wheels on my Expedition and have had them for over 2 years now and not once did the check engine light come on. The braking was a bit off but barely noticeable. I have the 2wd Expy and don't get any rubbing either; I hope this helps.

BTBFord - what's that upper badge on the side of the front quarter panel, just in front of the door? Did Ford ever make a supercab G2 Lightning?

My truck came stock with 16inch rims (4x2). I bought 17inch rims and tires off a 1999 Expy 4x4 and installed them directly. I have had them on for about three years and have never had a problem. I only have rear wheel ABS but no problems.

Now I am running NITTO NT404's but they are about the same diameter (just a little wider). The only problem I have had is when I installed the larger front sway bar. They rubbed a little and I had to use a wheel spacer.
