WLF - sorry, I totally forgot to measure the tire pressure - I will get it for you today.

www.tiresplus.com quoted a price of $148/ tire for STZ/01's, and my local Goodyear dealer said they could match that, so since I don't have to pay shipping costs, this is the best deal I have found. Getting them next week!!!

The good thing is that since I am going back with the same tires, I can keep the one that I replaced last year that only has about 25,000 miles on it for a spare - I live in a new subdivision and pick up nails in my tires about every other week. Unfortunately this time it went into the sidewall which no one will patch.

WLF - just measured - looks like I am running around 32 psi in my Falkens.

Thumbs up Falkens...

I have just recently installed 18x9.5 Detata wheels and opted for the Falken tires. 285/60 18. I have only put about 1500 miles on them and have no complaints at all. No squealing in parking lots, no problems on wet or dry roads either. I wouldn't be afraid of them...

Thanks for you recommendation. What did the Falkens cost you? Did you buy from local shop or online?

thanks again

My current Falkens (have not replaced them yet - trying to get as much as I can out of them) came from eBay. I have also bought some tires from www.tirerack.com for my wife's delSol - no one local could touch their price, even with shipping charges. No problems with the order - local Goodyear dealer installed them for me.

Back in May I priced tires at

www.etires.com
www.tirerack.com

but found my best deal at

www.1010tires.com

1010tires just changed their web site and delivery fees. Hope they change that nasty yellow text ya can't see.

Question Lightning wheel owners

To all of you who have responded to my inquiry I just wanted to say thanks.
Have any of you consider the following ford part to perhaps stop with the inner wheel rubbing?

Ford Racing=>Wheels=>M-1010-L
Lightning Wheel Steering Stops
Retail: $24.95
Online Price: $20.00

Lightning Wheel Steering Stops Required when installing Lightning wheels on 1997-02 F150 to avoid damaging the inboard flange of the wheel. Two steering stops per package

Just a thought about the wheel stops

I'm waiting to get a responce back from Falken Tire Corp as to what they say is the difference between the 01's & 04's. Discounttiredirect. com has the both for $145.00 with free shipping. I know everyone here has been happy with their 01's, but there are some differences and i'd like to be sure before I make the investment in either.

mark - never even heard of those, but I am interested. It states two per package - is that for both sides or do you use one package per side?? Where can I find these online (information)?? And I wonder how much it reduces your turning radius.

Hello LightningCrew..
I would assume that it would be one per side. Here is the link to the page and when you get there do the following on the small box on the left.
http://www.oemfordparts.com/

then click on "catagory" tab
then "ford racing"
then "wheels"

A window will open and if you scroll down you'll see the stops
M-1010-L
Your local dealer might also stock these. I'll try and call today. Not sure if or how much they might decrease turning radius. But if they only rub on full hard turns then I would think it would be better than listening to them rub or damaging the wheels.

Let me know what you think please

Thumbs up Falkens

I had a set of Falkens on a 91 5.0 Mustang. There were good tires, looked cool too. Still wouldn't hook up with 3.73 gears and 5 speed(nothing but slicks would though)
