'97 Expedition emergency brake problem
Hi, a friend told me about this site, and I just registered tonight.
I have an issue with my '97 Expedition. The E-brake pedal does not stay down when pressed. It just pops back up, or partway up, and does not hold the truck...I cannot see the ratcheting mechanism that holds the brake, so I am not sure what the problem is, so I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the pedal so I can check out the problem, or any other suggestions for a fix?
On another note, the plug that holds the wires for the brake sensor on the brake pedal arm (lets the computer know you have your foot on the brake, so you can move the transmission from park)...one of the wires broke, apparently from wear. So I cannot change from park. I am hoping NAPA has this plug tomorrow so the wife can drive to work on Monday.
Thanks
