Right size....

I'm confused. I just bought some used cooper cobra wide tires with pacer series chrome wheels from a guy around here. He said they would fit my truck, because he had them on his old body style 95 or 96 f150 truck (i dont remember) anyways i went to put them on today......soemthings off. They have the right pattern of bolts, 5, but will just barely make it over the begining of the bolts....It will not slide over the threads. I need to know if they're not gonna fit or if i'm just doing something wrong and need some advice. I don't know crap about wheels and I'm going to take them to get put on by a pro if i can ever figure out if it will fit. drop a line if you know what i'm talking about....

Thanks,

You stated that these wheels came off an old body style
5 on 5.5 bolt circle
the current body style has a 5 on 135mm bolt circle
5.5in to mm =139.7 mm just enough for the lugs to hit the edges of the holes I had wondered about putting 15's on mine but was shown that the bolt circles were too different not to mention the calipers dc

Unhappy

Runninghard is right - the current 97 and up F150's have a 5 on 135mm spacing, not the old 5 on 5.5 spacing. Assuming you have a late model F, the wheels you have are not going to fit .

Question

Do they make adapters for these?

Good friends that work at machine shops can be very valuable
adapters can be whittled out but this will increase your track width a little the width of the adapters will be as wide as your current lugs are long and if these wheels are offset different
(more wheel to the outside) a rubbing problem may be created
there may be adapters avaliable but I dont know of any yet
